"Amusement Parks On Fire will reoccupy earthly operations on 17/11/17 with a performance tour of their principality-apparent and the universal release of a new 7” vinyl single ‘Our Goal To Realise’ via Saint Marie Records, with the promise of a further extended-play 12" disc 'An Archaea’ and supporting appearances in 2018, as and when the company is inclined, primed and deems it commercially appropriate".
VERY special guests Misty Coast! See you in November x
Miniatures is the electronic/dreampop project of New Zealand expatriates Ché Walden and Annemarie Duff. Drawing heavily from the delay-soaked and distortion saturated alternative indie of the 80’s and 90’s, Miniatures craft cinematic and emotive soundscapes over meticulously programmed rhythms, tinged with a barest touch of pop sensibility.
Joined by a semi-permanent roster of musicians, the group released two self produced EPs (2011’s self-titled and 2013’s celebrated DIS) while cutting their teeth in Melbourne’s burgeoning shoegaze and dream pop scene. 2015 saw the full-time addition of Chris MacLean on bass, with the band eventually settling into a studio to begin work on their debut album with renowned Melbourne producer Matthew Hosking.
We are very excited to announce that Swoone have joined the family here at Saint Marie Records. Swoone is the unique combination of seductive vocals from Siobhan De Mare and captivating music by Gary Bruce. You may know Siobhan from her time as the vocalist of nineties band Mono and her time as the vocalist of Robin Guthrie's post Cocteau Twins band Violet Indiana. More detail on Siobhan and Gary below. Here is a *nearly* complete track from their future SMR release to whet your appetite.
Siobhan De Mare, daughter of Tony Meehan, drummer of the Shadows, granddaughter of the well-oiled gong banger for Rank films, was no stranger to show business when she started her career as a featured artist and backing vocalist for many dance and electronic bands. She was also the famous voice of the Emirates Airline worldwide campaign from 2002-2008. Siobhan signed her first major deal with Chrysalis Records and Universal, with her band Mono. Their album Life In Mono was released on Echo Records and soon entered the UK charts reaching the top twenty. Their hit song Life In Mono was used for the soundtrack of the film Great Expectations featuring Robert De Niro and Gwyneth Paltrow. The album also became very popular in film and television as incidental music including Dead Man Down with Naomi Raspen, and the X Box game, Alan Wake. Siobhan went on to form Violet Indiana with Robin Guthrie, former guitarist of The Cocteau Twins. They released several albums on Bella Union Records, with their music being used worldwide in film and television.
Gary is a self taught non musician and producer, not to mention qualified arborist and teacher! He has had music used in many TV programmes worldwide, including Jamie Oliver's Dream School, USA. He has also had music included in several instrumental albums. His other recording credits include a 7” single released on Andrew Wetherall's, Moine Dubh label, as one half of Echowood with Nina Walsh. He has also released one highly acclaimed instrumental album, MAPS, which was produced with a booklet of his own poems. Gary plays guitar with the amazing shoegaze orientated Daniel Land and is co writing some of the songs for Daniel's new album.
