UK band Orange Yellow Red came into existence with the demo of their track ‘All The Hopes’. Sounding almost like a more concise Cocteau Twins, being produced by Brian Wilson, it was every inch the classic, 3 minute pop song. The track was immediately picked up by Invada Records (run by Geoff Barrow of Portishead) and released on the label’s ‘The Secret Garden Vol. 1′ compilation.

On the back of the success and interest in that first demo, shows soon followed supporting the likes of Ulrich Schnauss and SPC-ECO, until finally the decision was made to go back into the studio to write and record the bands debut album. Emma, the bands co-vocalist says, “We just wanted to make the pop record we wanted to hear, in the way The Cure’s “Head on the Door” or “Pet Sounds” is a pop record…packed with cool melody and harmony but still somehow aches…like all the best pop records do.”
